F5F Outdoor Play Space

The Excelsior Library has a great outdoor play space!

This area is a space for Messy Play sessions, offering children a wide variety of play-based learning experiences and opportunities to engage with rich language development. It is a great space for parents to connect with library staff and build confidence in their language and literacy skills, meet and connect with other families.  It also allows the library to provide services in a more natural surrounding.

This project was funded by First 5 Forever funding from State Library Queensland and the Queensland Government.  The funding was first introduced in 2014 with the aim of improving the language and literacy skills of all Queensland children from the ages of 0-5, and is provided to every public library in Queensland annually.
