PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE – MILLCHESTER ROAD/VICTORY STREET INTERSECTION AND SADDS LANE UPGRADE

 

Council wishes to remind all road users that Millchester Road, Victory Street and Sadds Lane are closed due to roadworks to upgrade the intersection.  Works on Millchester Road and Victory Street are expected to be completed by early March 2022, weather permitting.

Please be aware that Victory Street will remain closed and Millchester Road will be partially closed to traffic while these roadworks are underway.  Millchester Road inbound traffic between York Street and the railway line will be closed to traffic in the west bound lane (towards the city centre).  A detour via New Queen Road has been put in place for inbound traffic.  Road users are requested to follow traffic management signs in place.

Normal traffic routes will be restored on both Victory Street and Millchester Road once Council crews proceed to Sadds Lane in early March to complete the remainder of these works.  Separate advice will be provided once the Sadds Lane stage of these works begins.

Motorists are requested to obey all road signs and follow all directions of traffic controllers on site which are being provided for the safety of road users and our workers.

Council acknowledges that the works may cause some inconvenience and requests the community’s patience and cooperation during these works.
