Celebrating Our People

Council has introduced a new initiative to recognise our residents who celebrate the significant achievement of reaching their 100th birthday by planting a tree. 

Recognition will be in the form of a tree and plaque identifying the birthday and recipient in a park or walkway chosen by Council. There is no cost associated with the tree or ceremony to the recipient and/or applicant.

How to apply:

  • Residents of the Charters Towers Region who are reaching the milestone of celebrating their 100th birthday or did not apply on their 100th birthday are eligible to apply or anyone can apply on behalf of the resident to participate in this initiative.
  • Applications should be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to the recipient’s birthday.
  • Applications should be made via the application form HERE
