Australia Day Celebrations
Charters Towers Regional Council encourages residents to reflect, respect and celebrate as we’re all part of the story of Australia.
Australia Day Celebrations will begin at Kennedy Memorial Pool with activities for all age groups from 10am to 1pm. It will be free entry and to top it off there will be a free sausage sizzle, how Australian is that!?
The Charters Towers Region Australia Day Awards are a celebration and an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution that individuals, community groups and organisations make in our region. On Sunday 26 January 2025 we will be celebrating community members who have been recognised for being great at what they do, going beyond what would reasonably be expected in their profession, contributing to the Charters Towers Region, and inspiring those around them. The Charters Towers Region Australia Day Award Ceremony will be held at the World Theatre from 6pm Sunday 26 January.
