Get the whole family into the Christmas Spirit with the 2024 ‘Light up our World’ kids Christmas Colouring in Competition and Christmas Lights Competition.

Colouring In Competition

Using the Colouring templates below, submit your best Christmas themed colouring ins, under one of the three categories and secure your chance in the lucky draw prize.  

Categories to enter:

Submissions open from Friday, 15 November and close 4pm Wednesday, 4 December 2024.  Hard copies of all Colouring ins, can be collected from Council's Administration Centre, Excelsior Library and the Visitor Information Centre.

Winners will be announced via Council’s various media channels on Friday, 6 December. Prize collections can be made from Council’s Administration Centre between Friday, 6 December to 4pm Friday, 20 December 2024, if the prize is not redeemed within the timeframe provided, it will be forfeited.

All submitted colouring ins will be on display at the Excelsior Library from Friday, 6 December to Friday, 20 December 2024.

Entry is free, parental or guardian permission is required.

Christmas Lights Competition

Submit your Christmas Lights Display under one of the four categories below and have a chance at winning a prize. All submission addresses will be added to the Christmas Lights Trail map for the public to view.

Categories to enter:

  • Best House
  • Best Nativity
  • Best Street
  • Best premises/window display*

Submissions open from Friday, 15 November and close 4pm Wednesday, 4 December 2024.

Winners will be announced via Council’s various media channels on Friday, 6 December. 

Free entry for participants.

*Best premises/window display proudly supported by Charters Towers Chamber of Commerce & Mines.  All businesses on Gill & Mosman Streets (CBD) will be entered automatically. 

All entries will be automatically entered into the Christmas Lights Trail map.
