Nominations and entries are now open for the 2023 Charters Towers Regional Council Business Excellence Awards.

Council officially announced the launch of the Inaugural Awards at the Quarterly Business Breakfast held in November last year and interest has been building behind the scenes.

The Awards have been developed to provide an opportunity to showcase and acknowledge the accomplishments of our leading local businesses.

Councillor Julie Mathews said that entries opened on Monday afternoon and there is already quite a buzz within the business community, with some businesses already starting the entry process.

“The opportunity has been provided for the public to nominate a business that they believe is worthy of an award and encourage that business to enter,” said Councillor Mathews.

A panel of three representatives from outside of the region and one local community representative have been selected to judge entries.

Two workshops, to be held 8 and 15 February 2023, will assist those interested in entering understand the process and put their best foot forward.

Both workshops will be held at Council’s Gold & Beef Rooms, located at Council’s Administration Centre, 12 Mosman Street, Charters Towers and will commence at 5:30pm.

Award winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner to be held on Saturday, 20 May 2023 where our diverse and dedicated business community will be celebrated.

Council is looking to partner with businesses interested in becoming sponsors of the Awards. 

“By sponsoring the 2023 Charters Towers Business Excellence Awards, sponsors are able to put their businesses in the spotlight whilst facilitating the achievement and celebration of local businesses.

“We all know that running a business requires a lot of hard work, determination, and commitment and what better way to support local business than by becoming a sponsor for an event that recognises this,” continued Councillor Mathews.
