Charters Towers Regional Council is seeking community input on arts and cultural matters, which will contribute to the region’s new Arts and Cultural Management Plan.

Local arts and cultural groups and individuals are being invited to attend one of five community meetings to help plan for a creative, vibrant and prosperous future.

Leading arts and cultural consultant, Stephen Clark, Director ArtReach Queensland, will attend the meetings to discuss cultural vitality and what this means for a vibrant and healthy community.

Cr Graham Lohmann said this is a great opportunity to discuss and contribute to the region’s future.

“We’re inviting the community to ‘put your hand up’ and help contribute to the direction of art and culture in our region.

“From these group discussions, we’ll use this information to prepare a new Arts and Cultural Management Plan.

“This Plan will provide direction on the future of cultural projects within our region. This will include what projects we’ll direct future funding towards from the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF).”
