Back

Nominations for the 2020 Australia Day Awards are closing 4pm, Friday 15 November 2019.

Council is encouraging all residents to nominate community members who tirelessly volunteer their time and talents for the betterment of our region.

Mayor Liz Schmidt said we need to recognise our outstanding individuals and community groups.

“Our Australia Day Awards are a celebration and an opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution that individuals, community groups and organisations make in our region.

“We are looking for someone that is great at what they do and inspires those around them.  I want to encourage the community to recognise these ‘unsung heroes’ by nominating them for an award.”

The Australia Day Awards Program recognises the valuable achievements of individuals for being outstanding role models and community advocates. They are individuals and groups who have excelled in their chosen field, be it sport, arts or culture.
