Markets, food and film festival

Back

The Twilight Markets and Film Festival is on again Saturday, 26 October 2019.

Starting at 6pm, at the Charters Towers Showgrounds, the Twilight Markets will offer great food, a variety of stalls and short films from the local schools and from around Queensland.

Cr Graham Lohmann said “The markets offer a great night out for the family with live entertainment and a great atmosphere.

“Shopping is a lot more fun when it involves great food, short films and bargains from local producers and suppliers.”

On offer will be market stalls of crafts, clothing and jewellery. There will be a special glow art workshop by Towers Arts and make sure you capture a memento of the evening with a happy snap at the photo booth.

Towers Taiko Japanese drumming will entertain with high-energy, heart thumping beats and powerful rhythms combined with dynamic movements.

To round out the night, relax and watch some local students’ short films premiering as part of the Queensland Touring Film Festival.

Students have been busying filming and editing their own films which will premiere with a collection of great, short films from around the world that are yet to screen in Queensland.

“There will also be the marquee with the Towers Rush team if you want to find out more about this great event happening on Sunday, 27 October.”

The short film workshops have been made possible thanks to the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) a partnership between the Queensland Government and Charters Towers Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
