The Rush is coming

Back

It’s the inland event that turns Charters Towers into one huge playground. Now in its 5th year, Towers Rush is 4 hours of fun-filled action for all ages and fitness levels.

Starting at 8:30am Sunday, 27 October, teams of between two and five people will gather at the Showgrounds before setting off to navigate the far reaches of Charters Towers.

Along the way the teams will complete a variety of challenges and activities with lots of prizes up for grabs.

Deputy Mayor Cr Sonia Bennetto said “It’s exciting to be able to have Towers Rush on again this year.

“The community really enjoys the various activities and the event attracts hundreds of people from around the region, including Townsville

“It’s suitable for everyone from the young, to the young at heart, intellectuals and the keen athlete. Come out and give it a go and enjoy a day of great family fun.”

Activities and challenges will include mini ninja warrior course, whacking a ball, finding hidden clues, “minute to win it” style games and many more.

Entry cost is $40 per team with the following categories:
  • Car
  • Bicycle
  • Foot
  • School
  • Corporate
To ensure walking teams don't miss out on all the awesome challenges, this year will see the return of the ‘Rush Bus’! Driving a pre-organised loop throughout the event, it will link challenge locations at Millchester and the Weir.
