Next round of funding available

Charters Towers Regional Council has signed a new agreement with the Queensland Government for this financial year’s Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) program.
Council was successful in receiving $35,000, which will be combined with a co-contribution from Council of $48,000, providing a total funding pool of $83,000.
The funding for community arts projects will be provided over 2 rounds this financial year.
Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Palaszczuk Government was proud to continue its RADF partnership with local governments with an investment of $2.08 million, through Arts Queensland, for the 2019-20 fund.
“This investment will support the delivery of hundreds of arts experiences and professional development opportunities across the state,” Ms Enoch said.
“Projects funded through RADF provide pathways for learning, contribute to the creation of jobs, foster creativity and boost cultural tourism.”
Cr Graham Lohmann said the objectives of RADF are to build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride.
“RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by our community.”
“We’re looking for anyone in our region who wants to be creative and has a great project to share. Even non-art groups are eligible to apply.” Cr Lohmann said.
Council is encouraging applications for creative projects that will create partnerships to develop more connection in our community.
Applications for Round 1, which closes 14 October 2019, are being sought for arts and culture projects that involve tourists or young people.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Charters Towers Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
