Charters Towers residents are encouraged to come along to the 2025 Community Sign-On Day to discover the wide range of sporting clubs, community organisations, and volunteering opportunities available in the region.

This annual event offers an excellent opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to learn about what’s on offer locally.

Councillor Julie Mathews highlighted the advantages of bringing together a diverse array of local groups and organisations in one place.

“Charters Towers boasts a vibrant variety of local organisations, and community involvement is vital to their continued success.

“Our Community Sign-On Day creates the perfect opportunity for the community to ask questions, gather information, and even sign up on the day if something piques their interest.

“Sign On Day is all about showcasing the range of activities and opportunities offered by local sports clubs and community groups, who are ready to welcome individuals of all ages and skill levels”, said Cr Mathews.

The annual event provides a chance for anyone in the community, especially those looking to try something new, to explore the fantastic local organisations and discover how they can get involved.

The 2025 Sign On Day will take place at Centenary Park on Thursday, 13 February 2025, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

This free event is open to both exhibitors and the public, and attendees can enjoy a complimentary sausage sizzle.

Local sporting clubs and community organisations interested in participating are encouraged to express their interest and register for the event today.
