Council would like to advise Charters Towers residents water usage is for essential use only to ensure the town water supply is maintained after an intake failure at the Weir.
This means the Charters Towers community continues to remain on a critical water alert and residents are to use water for showering (maximum 3 minutes) and drinking only.
