ALERT #13 - BE WATER AWARE

**As at 4:00pm Wednesday, 19 February 2025 **

Charters Towers residents and the business community are advised Charters Towers is now on a Level 2 Water Restriction.

Council has installed a larger temporary pump line which will allow increased capacity to the reservoir, however Council’s aim is for the community is to maintain a daily target usage of 8 megalitres (ML).

Charters Towers residents and the business community are to only use water for:

Level 2 Water Restriction – (High)

• Micro spray and drip systems fitted with timers can be used from 7pm to 8am on the odds and evens system.
• Sprinklers must not be used at any time.
• Hand-held hoses, watering cans, and buckets can be used.

Facility Closures are as follows:

• Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool - 50m Pool remains closed.
• Charters Towers Water Park remains closed.
• Standpipes will remain closed this week and reassessed next week.

Council will move to community updates every Monday & Thursday.
