Charters Towers Country University Centre
Community Support Needed
Charters Towers Regional Council, Country Universities Centre (CUC) and the newly established Charters Towers Country University Centre Working Group, is advocating for the establishment of a Regional University Study Hub in our community.
What is a Regional University Study Hub? These Hubs are innovative in creating educational opportunities for regional and remote students, enabling them to pursue university studies without having to leave their community. With 46 hubs already established in Australia, across all states and the Northern Territory, this initiative would offer incredible new opportunities for our local students, businesses, and families.
How can you help? The Commonwealth’s Regional University Study Hub Program (Cohort 5) is now open, and we need community support to secure funding. Your involvement is crucial for the success of this application.
Here is how you can support:
- Surveys:
- Submit a Letter of Support: local businesses, community members, and students are encouraged to provide letters expressing their support for the establishment of the hub.
- Provide Financial or In-Kind Support: Contributions of any kind, whether financial assistance, resources, or services, will be critical in establishing a sustainable Study Hub.
This is an opportunity to expand the Charters Towers Educational Infrastructure, providing our local students with the resources they need to succeed, strengthen our local economy, and ensure that we retain young talent and reskill those within our community.
