Great food, great markets, great films

The Twilight Markets and Film Festival are on again this Saturday, 9 October 2021. Enjoy great food, a variety of market stalls and short films made by the local schools.

The Markets will be held at the Charters Towers Showgrounds beginning at 6pm with a free jumping castle and photo booth.

Councillor Graham Lohmann, whose portfolio includes community events, said the Twilight Markets always deliver a great night out for families.

“This year the Twilight Markets and Film Festival will offer a variety of food and market stalls which will showcase produce and products from local producers and suppliers.

“We have approximately 40 market stalls registered to attend which includes western clothing, toys, jewellery, sweets, jerky, candles, and craft items.

“The food available includes crepes, ice cream, fish and chips, parmi burgers, hotdogs, doughnuts, nachos, and baked potatoes. 

“There will also be a number of community organisations offering information stalls, as well as the Towers Rush marquee where you can go to register your team or simply find out more about that great event happening on Sunday, 10 October.

“This year we will be showing 7 locally made short films, which the schools have been working on for the past few months.

“So bring your family and friends to enjoy some great food, shopping and entertainment,” said Cr Lohmann.
