Parking in front of Hospital closed

Council will be undertaking works to remove trees from the footpath in front of the Charters Towers Hospital from 6am tomorrow (Thursday, 3 November).

The removal of these trees is required due to tree roots impacting/lifting the current footpath, creating trip hazards.

To allow for these works to be undertaken, the car parks in front of the Hospital on Gill Street (parallel to the footpath) will be closed.

Works will continue next week (from Wednesday, 9 November) to remove the uneven sections of the current footpath, with the area to be re-concreted from the gutter to the fence line, weather permitting.

Council acknowledges the inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their cooperation.
