The Dave Chapman Park and Boat Ramp and the reach of the Burdekin River above the Weir is open for boating and skiing over the Christmas break.
Weather permitting, the safety marker buoys will remain in place until Sunday, 5 February 2023 with removal and replacement scheduled for Monday, 6 February 2023 and Tuesday, 16 May 2023 respectively to prevent their loss in flooding events. The Boat Ramp will remain open during this time; however water sports activities (this does not include fishing) will not be permitted due to removal of the buoys.
These arrangements are weather dependent and are subject to change should flooding rains occur.
